The E Cell , IIT Kanpur envisions a society of self-motivated individuals kernelled with constructive and intense entrepreneurial drive. Roshan has helped create or manage several Ashoka programs since 2003, both in India and globally. The most recent are the Ashoka Peace (launching entrepreneurs in conflict zones) and Ashoka Globalizer (helping social entrepreneurs accelerate their impact globally) initiatives. He has degrees from Davidson College and Harvard Kennedy School, and his writing on social innovation has been published in a range of academic journals, magazines and websites, as well as in the recent anthology “Dream of a Nation”. Roshan is also founder of The Amani Institute, which is building a new model in higher education for those interested in social change careers.

Ashok K. Jain
IIT Roorkee



A former Director, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, (a deemed university under MHRD, New Delhi) from May 2003 to March 2005, he has been a post doctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan, and visiting Scholar / Professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and McGill University, Montreal, and Nepal Engineering College, Kathmandu. He has authored four text books on structures and computers, and published over 120 papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He has developed many software on analysis and design of structures. He has over 30 years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy.





Avdhesh Jha



Dr. Avdhesh S. Jha an Associate faculty at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and Chief Editor for a journal Voice of Research is a doctorate in Education and a Post Graduate in Mathematics & Education. With 11 years experience of training the teachers at Graduation and Post-Graduation, he has a list of books published with national and international publishers in addition to the number of papers presented at the National and the International Seminars. With multi-language understanding ability, interest in psychology and research methodology, and having Ph.D. scholars under his guidance, he accredits to himself to prepare, design and introduce several new subjects in the curriculum of Gujarat University in addition to be a member of curriculum framework committee of CalorxUniversity.




Chaitanya Vyas



Dr. Chaitanya Vyas is Ph.D. and MBA with Marketing major. Dr. Vyas has seven years’ teaching and research experience in marketing area. He has presented research papers in national and international conferences and seminars; and published research papers in national and international journals with a book published by an international publisher from Germany. He has reviewed research paper for International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management. Dr. Vyas has won prize for paper presentation at BITS Pilani.




Divya Rajput



M.Tech in Electronics and Communication by qualification, Divya Rajput is an Alumni of Delhi University, Banasthali Vidyapeeth and IIM Ahmedabad. She is UGC-NET qualified and has taught at 3 Engineering colleges and managed operations and finances for Delhi Business School. She has worked with IIT Delhi on a research project and opted for teaching profession as a passionate trainer and mentor to transform learning abilities of students. She has more than 11 years experience in education sector and is recipient of “Youth Excellence Award in Academics” from Russian Cultural Cell and “Women Super achiever Award” from CMO Council Asia.





Haseena Sayed



She is a Stanford (USA)-IIM-B-NEN qualified "Entrepreneurship Educator" and a London Business School-GoldMan Sach-NEN qualified "Entrepreneur Mentor".
Haseena has mentored several start-ups and established entrepreneurs. She has been twice the judge of Asia's biggest B-plan competition IIT-B "Eureka" and judged the B-plan competition of IIT- K and Sydenham Management Institute. She has conducted entrepreneurship case study workshop at S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research and an “Idea Generation and Opportunity Evaluation” workshop at J.Bajaj Institute of Management, D.Y. Patil Institute of Management, and Sardar Patel Institute of Engineering and has been an entrepreneurship educator faculty at the I.E.S.Institute of Research -Bandra.





Pradip K Chande



He was Corporate Head at Mahindra British Telecom Limited, Pune, (now Tech-mahindra) where he was responsible for the development of Mahindra Institute of Software Engineering & Management in collaboration with the CMU, US for PG Programs in Information Security, Software Engineering , Management Development Programs for Industries, pursued proposal to establish a De-Novo University and MDPs for industries.
He was the Founding Director & Professor of IT at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (A Deemed University), Bhopal for two years , and was also Director-in-charge of MP Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Park, Bhopal. During this tenure He have successfully transformed the REC into a deemed university





Sumit Sarkar



Dr. Sarkar is in the field of teaching, training, consulting and research for the past 11 years, in the areas of Economics and Strategy. His core areas are: Microeconomics, Game Theory (with applications in Economics and Business Strategy), Industrial Organization Theory, Auction Designing, Contract Designing and Economics of Network Industries. His doctoral thesis is “On Some Aspects of Imperfect Competition: Network Externality and Other Issues.” It deals with the strategic behaviour of firms, in an oligopolistic set up, in presence of network externality. He started his career as an Assistant Professor at IIM Kozhikode. Before moving to XLRI, Jamshedpur, Dr. Sarkar was in the faculty of IIT Kanpur. Dr. Sarkar also taught at IIM Indore as a visiting faculty.
Dr. Sarkar conducted several sessions for various management development programs and other training programs at XLRI and IIM Kozhikode for different companies including HAL, Ordinance Factory, GE Caps, L&T, Mahindra and Mahindra, BHEL etc.





Anjan Raichaudhuri



For the past 25 years Anjan has been a teacher,consultant,trainer and writer on a wide range of topics related to management and entrepreneurship. His recent book "Managing New Ventures--Cases and concepts on entrepreneurship", based on 5 years of research at IIM Calcutta, has become extremely popular among prospective entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship students. Anjan has published over 100 articles in leading journals,newspapers and magazines on marketing , leadership , strategy , technology and entrepreneurship.
He received the "Best Teacher in Marketing Management" award in 2010 from Dewang Mehta Business School Awards.As a part of the NEN team he was instrumental in starting the Foundation Programme for Entrepreneurship Faculty, which has now been conducted in over 500 colleges across the country.
Anjan has worked with senior executives and CEO's of leading Indian and International organisations on behalf of his consulting organisation ,Business Horizons Pvt Ltd which has been a leader in B2B research,Customer Satisfaction studies and New Venture strategy. Anjan holds a Bachelor degree in engineering from IIT Kharagpur with post-graduation in management from IIM Calcutta.





Ashok Kumar



Dr Kumar obtained his Ph.D jointly from IIT Roorkee, and the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi. He has postdoctoral research experience from institutes in Sweden and Japan. He was a faculty at Lund University, Sweden, prior to his joining the BSBE department in August, 2004 as an Associate Professor.





R.P. Maheshwari



Dr. R. P. Maheshwari was born in India in 1960. He received B. E. degree in Electrical Engineering and M. Sc. (Engineering) degree in Instrumentation from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1982 and 1985 respectively and Ph. D. degree from Electrical Engineering Department, University of Roorkee (currently IIT Roorkee) in 1996. He is currently working as Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. His fields of interest are wavelets, neural network, optimization techniques, content based image retrieval, digital instrumentation, digital protective relays and digital signal processing. He has published more than 129 research papers in international and national journals and conferences. He has also authored one book on Switch Gear and Protection published from Oxford University Press. He is life members of Institution of Engineers (India) and Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) and member of IEEE (USA).





Sheetal Mundra



Dr. Sheetal Mundra received her Post Graduation degree in Economics from MDS University, Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Her Ph. D. research is on “Women Development: Economic Status of Women and Caste”. She has worked as Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in institute of Technology and Management from 2006 to 2009. Presently, she is working as Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in School of Management in ITM University from 2010. Her area of Interest is Micro Economics, Macro Economics, Entrepreneurship and Women Studies. She teaches Managerial Economics, Entrepreneurship and General Management to Engineering and Management students both at graduate and post graduate level. She has also published various research articles in International and National Journals. She is member of NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network). Engaged in the field of Entrepreneurship Development for last 27 years and has experience in working with many international organisations like UNIDO, UNDP, IFAD, SNV, UNODC, ILO, EC, IICCI etc. A Regional Facilitator of ILO for Entrepreneurship Education and a Master Trainer for KAB. Presently, Advisor at the Myanmar India Entrepreneurship Development Centre (MIEDC), Yangon, Myanmar.





Bipin Shah



A business management specialist with 38 years of experience in consultancy and industry in the areas of project formulation and appraisal, project planning and enterprise establishment, and management. Has been Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial & Technical Consultancy Organisation Ltd. and Member of the Governing Council of CDC, Ministry of S&T, GoI. Also worked as President for 6 years in Chemicals and Pharmaceutical Companies. He is on Experts' panel of UNIDO, UNDP & EXIM Bank of India. Specialises in plastic industry and has exposure in chemical and pharma sector MSMEs.





Naresh Singh



Dr. Naresh Singh did B.A. (Honours), M.A., M. Phil. and Ph. D. in Sociology. He also holds Degree of M.B.A. (Finance). He has more than two decades of teaching, research, training, consulting and project management experience. His main areas of interest and expertise are Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Environment, Public Policy Management, NGO Sector Management and Microfinance Sector Management. He has worked with reputed management / sectoral institutions like; Institute of Health Management Research Jaipur (Research Officer), Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Mumbai (Associate Professor) and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India Ahmedabad (Professor). Radhika Meenakshi



Dr. Radhika Meenakshi’s area of research interest is Building Cost efficiencies in MSME sector with Change Management. Besides facilitating academic knowledge , she is also a resource person / Co-Trainer in various management development programs and training modules for many reputed PSUs, defense personnel and faculty improvement programs organized by the universities. She is currently also one of the resource trainers for NEN led FDPs across the country and TATA-NEN startups –First Dot. She is also a certified Mentor by NEN- GS Training and is mentoring a couple of startups. She is also a mentor in BYST – Hyderabad chapter. She has also been a resource person for various Entrepreneurial Summits in reputed academic national institutions across India and has also handled training modules for two international delegations .





Arya Kumar



Prof. Arya Kumar, is a Dean Students Welfare Division and Chief Entrepreneurship Development & IPR Unit and at BITS, Pilani. He is also coordinating the activities of Technology Business Incubator at BITS, Pilani. He has been steering the activities of Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at BITS Pilani for the past more than 8 years.
His basic interests lie in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Values in Management and Financial Management. He has co-authored three books in the area of General Management, Ethics in Management, and Grassroots Entrepreneurship. He has contributed many research articles in National Journals and Economic Dailies in the area of entrepreneurship, management and economics. He has successfully completed Entrepreneurship Educators Course organized by STVP, Stanford University, IIM Bangalore and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and IIM, Bangalore, as also 10000 Women: Tools for Growing Your Business organised by Goldman Sachs in partnership with London Business School and National Entrepreneurship Network. He is a member of the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) India Faculty Advisory Board. He is actively involved in promotion of entrepreneurship development programmes





M S Rao



Prof M S Rao has a B E from NIT,Bhopal and a PGDBA from I I M A. He has over 25 years of industry experience, the last tenure being CEO of a multi-national telecom services company. He has been an academician since year 2000 at SPJIMR, first as a Marketing Professor and later as Professor in Entrepreneurship. Prof Rao set up the Center for Entrepreneurship at SPJIMR and is the Chairperson. Prof Rao has designed several courses in Venture Creation and Growth for different segments - for TePP innovators in Phase 2, aspiring entrepreneurs, MBA students distributors of multi-national companies and growth stage entrpreneurs. Over 50 participants from his programs have become entrepreneurs by now. Prof Rao is currently involved in Harsh Mariwala's ASCENT Foundation for growth focused entrepreneurs





Vivek Bhatt



Possesses about 13 years of teaching experience in Management Information Processing, Computer Applications, Programming, Quantitative Methods and Research Methods. Has a working experience with IIM-A as Academic Associate in Production and Quantitative Methods area. Also worked with ICFAI National College for more than 3 years as a Faculty. Developed several Software applications to support decision system in academic institutions. Submitted a thesis in the area of Decision Making in SMEs and Business Intelligence Tools.





Prof. Kripa Shankar



Kripa Shanker, Former Deputy Director, IIT Knapur is Gold Medalist for standing first in B.Sc. Mechanical Engg. from Banaras Hindu University. He obtained his M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, USA.
His main areas of teaching and research include production/operations management, supply chain management, quantitative and statistical decision models, computer integrated/flexible manufacturing systems, cellular manufacturing, and simulation.
He joined IIT Kanpur as a faculty member in the Industrial and Management Engineering Department in 1978 where he has been serving as a Professor since 1987. He had been a visiting Professor at the Asian Institute of Technology Bangkok from 1982-84, and again from 1998-2000. He has also taught at Cornell, USA; Hanoi, Vietnam and Babol, Iran.
He has been the Deputy Director of IIT Kanpur for the two consecutive terms (2002-08) prior to joining UPTU as its Vice-Chancellor.





Dr. Anoop Singh



Anoop Singh is Associate Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (India). His areas of interest include infrastructure regulation & policy, power sector regulation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy economics, climate change, project financing and cross-border energy cooperation. He has a number of research papers and three books to his credit. He has undertaken research/consultancy for World Bank, UNCTAD, UNU/IAS, AIT, University of Cambridge and Planning Commission. He was Member, WG on Power for 11th as well as 12th Five-Year Plan, and Member, Working Group on Bulk Energy Transport of the National Transport Development Policy Committee (NTDPC), Planning Commission. He is also Member, Advisory Committee for Capacity Building of Distribution Personnel under R-APDRP, Ministry of Power, Member, Research Advisory Committee of Council of Power Utilities, New Delhi, and Member, Study Group for System Loading Charges, and State Advisory Committee of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission. He is recipient of researcher fellowships from Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), UNU/IAS and DAAD. He received the Best Business Model Award at the ACEF 2010. He has three books and numerous publications to his credit. He contributes regulatory and policy submissions with reference to formulation of regulations and policies, especially for the power sector





Geetha Suresh

Prof. Sonu Goyal



Dr. Sonu Goyal is a Professor of Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship at International Management Institute, New Delhi, India. She is a doctorate from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. As part of her doctoral research she studied the strategies adopted by the Indian IT services companies and their business model. She is currently the Area Chairperson for Strategy and General Management. Her research and teaching interests are in the field of Industry and Competitive Dynamics, Managing Innovations, Entrepreneurship, CSR, Managing Change and Behavioral Context of firms. She has chaired an International Conference on ‘Green Competitiveness for Sustainable Development’ in collaboration with George Mason University, USA and Monash University, Australia. She has also edited a book on ‘Green Business’. She has conducted many in-company management development programs for state Owned enterprises such as ONGC, NHPC, DOT, CSIR, Power Forum, Engineers India ltd. IOCL as well as private firms such as CSC India, Moser Baer and Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. She holds open management development programs on subjects such as Managing Innovation, Creativity and Problem Solving, Strategic Thinking, Execution Skills and Organizational Effectiveness, Leadership, Managing for Global Competitiveness, Knowledge Management and Change Management for executives at all levels.





Dr Mathai B. Fenn



Is a combination of a Psychologist (he has a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay) and Management Faculty (he has taught at XLRI Jamshedpur, American University of Armenia, IIT Gandhinagar, IIM Kozhikode and several institutes in India and Abroad) and an Entrepreneur (he runs his own firm called the Talk Shop ). He served for several years as a mentor of the IIT Bombay e-cell. One of the teams he mentored in Yerevan, Armenia won the 2nd prize in the Armenian Business Plan Competition.
His interest is not limited to narrow academic silos. His Ph.D. Spans the disciplines of Psychology and Philosophy. He has taught courses in Organizational Behaviour, Leadership, Management of Relationships, Business Ethics, Marketing, Advertising and Consumer Behaviour apart from teaching Psychology at IIT Gandhinagar.
Dr. Fenn believes that entrepreneurship is like Treasure Hunting. Its not about finding treasure, but the reward is in the hunt. The creative mind and the entrepreneurial mind have much in common. An entrepreneur is one who spots opportunity all around. It requires a sense of adventure and fun. He has been advising entrepreneurs since 1996 and enjoys the process of challenging people to grow. He strongly believes becoming an entrepreneur is nothing short of a change of heart. His advice to those who want to get rich as quickly and as easily as possible. Stay in that JOB!

The Hatch

The Hatch provides high-potential startups a single-point access to key ingredients required for success – mentoring, operational guidance, knowledge & resources, infrastructure support and access to capital.
Our intention is to work with aspiring entrepreneurs at the starting of their entrepreneurial journey. i.e. we work at a ‘two people and a powerpoint’ stage and we help entrepreneurs convert their concepts into businesses. Our programs are designed to provide deep-engaged, long-term mentoring to help startups prove their concepts and business models. The mentor panel of The Hatch consists of successful entrepreneurs, angel investors and mentors to over 500 ventures in India, the US and Europe.
Under our incubation program, we will help in incubating over 1000 entrepreneurs over the next 5 years.
We have created a mentor panel comprising of over 50 accomplished and experienced entrepreneurs, investors and senior professionals.

NEN
The nonprofit National Entrepreneurship Network was established in 2003 with a mission to create and support high-growth entrepreneurs, driving job-creation and economic growth in India.
NEN represents India’s largest and most dynamic community of new and future high-growth entrepreneurs, with over 70,000 members in 30 cities. It provides critical support to start-ups and early-stage entrepreneurs through high-impact entrepreneurship education; access to mentors and experts; fast-track access to incubation and funding; and learning tools and materials. It partners with over 470 top-tier academic institutes in India to help them develop vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystems on campus, which develop and support new and future entrepreneurs. In addition, it runs Entrepreneurship Week India, the country’s largest entrepreneurship-awareness campaign. In 2009, E Week India featured over 3500 events with more than 350,000 participants.
NEN was co-founded by IIT Bombay; IIM Ahmedabad; BITS, Pilani; SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai; Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore.

NSEF

NSEF( National Social Entrepreneurship Forum) - NSEF's aim is to empower the students through exposing to the field of social entrepreneurship through various activities. National Social Entrepreneurship Forum is a non-profit organization influencing the youth culture in India both in practice and academia by inspiring, training and supporting students for social innovation & entrepreneurship and in the process, emerged as India's premier youth platform for social innovations with pan-India chapters facilitating the growth of leaders of change.

MentorEdge Initiative by CIIE at IIM-Ahmedabad
MentorEdge is Pan India initiative which bridges a very important gap in the Entreprepreneurial ecosystem, that of providing hand-holding, mentoring and networking support to aspiring and established entrepreneurs. It is a structured network of mentors and experts aimed at helping entrepreneurs get the winning edge through advisory support on various strategic and operational decisions.

IKP

IKP Knowledge Park - IKP Knowledge Park (IKP) nestles in a 200-acre pollution free zone in Genome Valley, Hyderabad. The masterplan of the Park mirrors its objective of nurturing an environment for innovation and the expected growth in life sciences and related fields. It has a mix of ready-to-use multi-tenanted modular wet laboratory blocks (Innovation Corridors) with in-built flexibility around some common, shared facilities and support services, as well as developed land for customised R&D facilities.

AngelPrime

Angel Prime
AngelPrime addresses the much needed gap in the Indian startup ecosystem. While numerous Venture and PE funds pour capital into later stage ventures with proven business models and revenues, the very early stage startups and entrepreneurs with ideas are starved of investment and critical mentorship.

SIIC

IIT Kanpur has set up the SIDBI Innovation & Incubation Centre (SIIC) in collaboration with Small Industries development Bank of India (SIDBI) to foster innovation, research, and entrepreneurial activities in technology-based areas. Dr. Ashish Gupta


Dr. Ashish Gupta is a co-founder of Helion and serves on the boards of NGPay, Exclusively.in, redBus, Dhingana, Zmanda, Komli, Pubmatic, Jivox, Kirusa, MuSigma, Naukri.com, SMSGupshup and Hoopos.com. He has co-founded two successful companies - Tavant Technologies and Junglee (AMZN). He has also worked at Woodside Fund, Oracle Corporation and IBM research. His investments include Daksh (IBM), Odesk, Obongo (AOL), Speedera (Akamai), MakeMyTrip, Merittrac (Manipal Group), and Kaboodle (Hearst).

Ashish is a Kauffman Fellow, holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a Bachelor's degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur where he was awarded the President's Gold medal. He has authored several patents, publications, and a book by MIT press.

Sana, is a team of MIT and Harvard School of Public Health students who have developed award-winning technology named "Sana", that enables mobile phones to capture and send medical data, even in areas with poor cellular coverage. The platform allows rural practitioners to connect in real time with trained experts for diagnostic and treatment assistance.

The mission is to revolutionize healthcare delivery in remote areas through innovative mobile information services that improve patient access to medical specialists for faster, high quality, cost effective treatment.

Developing countries like India face the double burden of infectious and chronic diseases. Given the high cost of treating chronic diseases, it’s imperative that health systems here are re-oriented towards prevention. Realising the wide impact and promise of this program, E-Cell IIT Kanpur brought the programme to one of the major Indian cities - Kanpur, which has a dire need of good health services especially in the outskirts of the city. E-Cell initiated a collaboration between Rama Dental College, Kanpur and Sana project. Sana has already partnered with one of India's leading healthcare providers, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore. They train health workers and general physicians to use Sana to screen and manage the various diseased conditions.

E-Cell's initiative to bring this technology to Kanpur, is named "Aadhar" - meaning the foundation. The project title is pertinent to the purpose for it lays the groundwork for a more salubrious society. E-Cell provides the technical and volunteering help to connect the Sana team with the Rama Dental Institute. Besides, it will be involved in identifying the cases in the region, creating a database, assisting in trial runs and pilot run of the technology, so that the cost effectiveness, scalability and sustainability issues are well tested and accounted for and appropriate measures are taken accordingly. With an aim to improve the Oral health condition of the people and be able to better diagnose and treat the cases of Oral Health Cancer we want to contribute in increasing the number of flashing smiles in the city of Kanpur, and vision to have it spread across the entire nation, as wildfire.
